The use of high-strength steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber reinforced plastic greatly reduces the overall car weight hence increasing the performance.

Inside the 2017 Audi A6 Hybrid is a newly designed dashboard and with all-new control layout. The car has made use of the same enhanced touchpad Multi Media Interface (MMI) and a touch screen just as the next Audi A8. The dashboard will support up to three high-definition touch screens. A variety of engine options is provided to the user of the 2017 Audi A6 Hybrid; the options include a six-cylinder diesel and a four-cylinder gasoline engines. Additionally the users have been given a choice to choose either the All Wheel Drive (AWD) or the Front Wheel Drive (FWD). This fifth generation of the Audi A6 will also offer a plug-in Hybrid model as well. The engines provided are a TDI 4.0 L V8 engine that is set to generate a power output of 400 horsepower and the second engine being a 2.0 TFSI and a 2.0 TDI. The hybrid option is a combination of the 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine together with an electric motor that is capable of generation of up to 120 horsepower.
